Description

“Metal Clay Magic” Jewelry making (four sessions)

Learn how to transform lumps of metal “clay” into unique pieces of fine jewelry for yourself—or special gifts. This is a fun, comprehensive 4-part series of classes with an experienced instructor and practicing metalsmith.

Metal “clay” (also called Precious Metal Clay or "PMC" in the Silver version) is a highly versatile art and craft material that offers quick, beautiful results to both novice and experienced artists. We’ll a wide variety of techniques, various fabrication tips and finishing options using both copper and fine silver, as well as exploring options for polishing, embellishing and finishing your handcrafted pieces.

No prior experience necessary!

Thursday, May 9, 16, 23, 30 from 2:00-4:00pm

Special Note: the 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes are all structured to build on the previous weeks so students should plan to attend every session of the 4-part series.

Included in the class fee are the use of all needed tools and equipment; materials fee is separate. $55 due on the first day of class payable to the instructor, Kat Jamieson

About your instructor: Kat Jamieson devotes her energy as a Virginia-based artist to creating original jewelry and award-winning watercolors. She loves to share her creative experience and inspiration with interested students. Her work is shown at Gallery Clarendon in Arlington and can be viewed at katjamieson.com.
