Event description
Live performances from Mesadorm and Hearing Aid Beige at The Barrel House in Totnes, Devon

About this Event

Mesadorm is a left-field electronica act boasting former Front woman of Vaults, Blythe Pepino, sought-after session players Daisy Palmer (Goldfrapp, Paloma Faith, Rae Morris), Jo Silverston (Frank Turner, The Unthanks, The Magnetic North), David Johnston (Zun Zun Egui) and acclaimed producer/multi-instrumentalist Aaron Zahl. The result is a ''melting pot of heartfelt anguish and celebration, or shuddering electronica and tender instrumentation, that’s truly global in its scale and ambition" - Bristol Live Mag

Following on from their debut in 2018 'Heterogaster' ("some of the most interesting music this year" - The Guardian), forthcoming album 'Epicadus' (April 2019) is a beautiful acoustic offering featuring songs from 'Heterogaster' and new compositions recorded at Eype Church, Dorset where PJ Harvey made 'Let England Shake'.

This special show at The Barrelhouse is part of Mesadorm's Epicadus acoustic tour where songs are performed using mostly acoustic timbres.

"I love the sound of that… a beautiful record” - Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1

“I’m absolutely addicted... really affecting and beautiful” - Lauren Laverne, BBC 6 Music

Best album of 2018 - BBC Introducing in the West

Hearing Aid Beige is a song writing partnership between Simon Hampshire and Tommy Williams based out of Totnes, Devon. The music ranges from Brian Wilson-esque confessionals with kaleidoscopic nods to the past, to laid back indie pop influenced by the likes of Mac Demarco and Andy Shauf. They have had lots of support from Sarah Gosling from BBC Music Introducing in Devon and Cornwall and recently had a 6 music play from Steve Lamacq.
