Come enjoy a live holiday performance by Forsyth County’s very own symphony orchestra, the Forsyth Philharmonic! All is Merry and Bright!

About this Event

Get into the Christmas spirit with the Forsyth Philharmonic as they perform Sleigh Ride, The Polar Express, Fantasia on We Three Kings, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve, and many more holiday favorites! The concert will held in the Sanctuary (lower level only), and doors will open to audience members at 6:30 PM.

Caroline Renner, Guest Artist

Caroline will be our featured vocalist soloist for the evening. She is a former chorus student of Jason Landers, and she currently teaches chorus at Twin Rivers Middle School.

Rachel and Jason Landers, Artistic Directors

Rachel has a Masters in Music Education from the University of Georgia, where she was a First Honor Graduate. Keeping a full private studio, she has taught private oboe, English horn, bassoon and piano lessons since 2005 - her students are often participants in the GMEA District and All-State bands. Her composition for orchestra, "Scenes of Cape Breton," was premiered in 2018 by the Forsyth Philharmonic. At UGA, Rachel was recognized as a GMEA Collegiate Scholar and GMTA Outstanding Performer, and she received the Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Music Educator Award. She is a member of Mensa, GMEA, Delta Epsilon Iota, and Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. Rachel currently plays English Horn and oboe for Tara Winds and the Northwinds Symphonic Band. She is the graphic designer for the Forsyth Philharmonic and maintains our website/social media presence.

Jason currently teaches mathematics at North Forsyth Middle School and is the Principal Pianist at Hamilton Mill UMC in Dacula, GA. He previously taught Chorus and Musical Theater at Osborne Middle School in Gwinnett County. Jason's choirs have won the Middle School Choral Sweepstakes at the Atlanta Southern Star Music Festival every year entered and the Grand Champion trophy in 2013 and 2018. He received his Ed.S. in Middle Grades Education, M.M.Ed. in Music Education, and BMUS in Music Education degrees from the University of Georgia, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors. Jason has served as a piano accompanist for various District Honor Choirs, Georgia All-State Choirs, and 6th Grade Statewide Honor Choirs. He holds memberships in GMEA, NAfME, Mensa, Delta Epsilon Iota, National Honor Society, and Pi Kappa Lambda.

The Forsyth Philharmonic is a symphony orchestra and nonprofit organization based in Forsyth County, GA. It was founded in July 2015 by a group of talented Georgia musicians in response to the growing need for orchestral programs in the northern part of the state. The mission of the Forsyth Philharmonic is to maintain a commitment to musical excellence while providing performance opportunities for local musicians and sharing orchestral music with the community.
