The Merola Opera Program and the San Francisco Public Library present Merola Goes to the Movie, featuring free screenings of operas on film.
Join us on Sunday, May 28th, 1 pm, for a free film screening of Verdi's La traviata, a 2005 Salzburg Festival production featuring Anna Netrebko (Merola 1996), Rolando Villazon (Merola 1998), and Thomas Hampson (Merola 1980).
This screening takes place at the San Francisco Public Library - Main Branch (100 Larkin Street) in the Koret Auditorium. Admission is free.
Three brilliant Merola alumni bring to life the romance and tragedy in Verdi’s heart-rending, musically exquisite version of the Lady of Camelias.
Before the screening, a Merola representative will give a short talk about the opera. Guests are also welcome to enter a free drawing to win Merola Opera Program prizes.
Doors for seating open at 12:30 pm. All seating is first come and not reserved in advance. Early arrival is suggested for best seats.
