About this Event

This workshop will introduce participants to the the spectrum of collaborations and partnerships and delves into what makes them effective. We cover various considerations related to readiness for potential partnerships, as well as how to vet possible partner organizations and structure effective partnerships. We also cover the challenging territory of building trust, negotiating terms and achieving commitment on both sides. We will also explore the spectrum of strategic alliances (partnerships, collaborations, alliances, mergers) as tools that can be used to strengthen and preserve their mission in an environment marked by uncertainty. We will talk through the various considerations in forming strategic alliances.

Key Takeaways:

Participants will:

  • Understand the spectrum of collaborations and partnerships with one or more organizations;
  • Have tools to support partnership vetting, landscape positioning, asset inventory, desired outcomes;
  • Understand the process of building trust, negotiating terms, and achieving commitment;
  • Learn how strategic alliances can help them delivery their mission;
  • Be able to distinguish which form of alliance will best serve their mission and purposes; and
  • Better understand the merger process

This workshop will be presented by Molly Penn and Andrea Sholler of Penn Creative Strategy.
