History teaches us that the question for our lives is one of desire and preference, affirming something as the ultimate in every moment. By the very fact that man lives five minutes, he affirms the existence of something deep down that makes living those five minutes worthwhile. If we are not awaiting Christ, it is for something else. Advent is a season of hopeful waiting for our Savior because He first waits for us day and night. He comes to us as one of us to give us a new heart and a new spirit.
You’re invited to the CL Advent Retreat to join the Phoenix community to discover more deeply that the problem is not the immaturity of our attempts, but whether the desire and expectant waiting for His presence are the origin of our action.
The day will consist of singing, talks, lunch, silent time, and Vigil Mass. Lunch will be provided. We encourage you to go to confession before the Advent retreat to best prepare your heart for the day. Bring a journal or something to take notes with.
