Sophie Patenaude is a17 year old performer from Poland, ME. Sophie got her start performing in community theatre productions such as Dr. Doolittle and Annie. After, she realized that singing and performing was all she wanted to do. This lead her to perform in several other theatre productions, sing and play in District II and All State choirs and bands, spend summers at the New York Summer Music Festival and Berklee College of Music studying voice, start Southern Maine’s acoustic duo, Meraki, with her grandfather, John Edwards, and begin work on her first studio album. “I started performing when I was 8 years old, and no sooner became addicted to the way it made me feel when I saw the people in the audience smile. I loved having the power to change people’s lives in such a short period of time, to make them forget all the bad stuff that was going on their lives, and make them happy even if it was only for a moment. Now that I’m older, I remember being inspired by all the singers that I had the opportunity to hear, famous and not, and realized that the reason that I do this is so I can be that person for someone.”
John and Sophie also perform with local bands Masterstroke Queen Experience and RazorDasies.
