Meow at the Moon
Event Information
Description
Cat Town, Oakland Animal Services and Heart of the Town Events are delighted to host the inaugural "Meow at the Moon", a frolicking, cat-themed festival supporting cats in need of loving homes.
Our festive fundraiser will feature a cat-themed costume contest, cat video showcase, music and dancing, and a “cat-tastic” photo booth in addition to Oakland beer, wine, food (available for purchase), and more “purr-tastic” fun!
This people-only event welcomes guests to dress as (or in the spirit of) cats and party the night away under the moonlight in Frank Ogawa Plaza. We invite animal lovers, Oakland boosters, night owls and other fun-seekers looking to toast The Town!
A 501c3 nonprofit, Cat Town has a unique partnership with the city’s shelter, Oakland Animal Services. Together, they have found “fur-ever” homes for 1,400 hard-to-place cats and reduced the shelter’s euthanasia rate by 32%. Event proceeds will help care for many at-risk cats.

Join the fun on Saturday, September 17!
