Event description

Description

- How do we read and write about mental health issues?
- How can we turn conversations into tangible action?
- How can we change the fact that the media is still skewed in favour of telling the stories of a privileged minority?

In the midst of a nationwide mental health crisis, the way we are talking about mental health issues has changed - mostly for the better. We've started the conversation - but how does that translate into concrete, legislative action? How should we be talking about mental health in the media?

UBJS will be welcoming a panel of esteemed journalists who have spoken about mental health in the public forum to discuss their experiences and ponder where we go from here.

Panelists:
** ELEANOR MORGAN: Formely senior editor at Vice UK, Eleanor Morgan has written extensively for the Guardian, Times, Independent, GQ and Harper's Bazaar, among others. She is the author of 'Anxiety for Beginners: A Personal Investigation' and is currently training to be a psychologist.

** DAISY BUCHANAN: Daisy Buchanan is a hugely successful columnist, features writer, author and broadcast contributer. She writes for publications including the Telegraph, Guardian, the Pool, Look, Grazia, Maire Claire and the Daily Mirror. She is currently touring with her memoir, 'How to be a Grown-Up'.
