Event description
Mental Health in Asian American Community During Covid-19

About this Event

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month & Mental Health Awareness Month. While we should be celebrating, there has been an increase in hate crimes towards the Asian American community during this pandemic. Join Silayan and Breaking Barriers to discuss mental health concerns within the Asian American community during Covid-19.

Gaby Masuda is the Outreach Coordinator for the Asian Pacific Islander Community. She is passionate about mental health, women’s empowerment, and creativity as a form of healing. Outside of work Gabriela enjoys running her own calligraphy business, thrifting, and finding the best food spots in the city. Gaby is a part of Breaking Barriers. Breaking Barriers is an outreach program that works with underserved communities to talk about mental wellness. Through educational presentations and events, Breaking Barriers discuss the stigma of mental health and connect participants to helpful resources.
