Mental Health First Aid Training

Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour is

coming to Atlanta

Mental Health First Aid USA is partnering with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. Together, their goal is to train 150,000 more people in Mental Health First Aid by the end of the year by holding a course along every U.S stop on Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour.

To help reach this goal, Community Health Interfaith Partnership (CHIP) and United Way of Greater Atlanta are joining forces to offer a FREE 1-day, 8-hour Mental Health First Aid Training Course to the first twenty-five (25) people to register. Participants must attend the full 8-hour course to receive certification. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Time: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Location: The Sheltering Arms

385 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW

Atlanta GA 30313

Cost: Free (Only 25 slots available)

Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based public education and prevention tool – it improves the public’s knowledge of mental health and substance use problems and connects people with care for their mental health or substance use problems.

1 in 5 Americans has a mental illness, but many are reluctant to seek help or might not know where to turn for care. Unlike physical conditions, symptoms of mental health and substance use problems can be difficult to detect. For friends and family members, it can be hard to know when and how to step in. As a result, those in need of mental health services often do not get them until it is too late.

Just as CPR helps even those without clinical training assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid prepares participants to interact with a person experiencing a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-step action plan that guides them through the process of reaching out and offering appropriate support.

Thank you Lady Gaga and Born This Way Foundation for all that you do for the Mental Health Community.
