Event description

Description

Mental Health First Aid is a valuable resource that can make a difference in the lives of the more than 22 million veterans, their families, and the communities they live in. During this 8-hour training course, trainees are taught how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. This class is open to veterans, their family members, and anyone who works with the veteran community.

Family members and personnel working with military and families are often not aware of how to engage veterans with mental illnesses and addictions. Mental Health First Aid for Veterans focuses on the unique experiences and needs of the military, veteran and family population.

This event is FREE for attendees and made possible by the support of the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, Southeast Minnesota Chapter. Coffee and snacks are provided; please note, lunch is not included.
