Description

The Lane County Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative (OABHI) is hosting an all-day training on mental health first aid. This training is aimed at providing information to adults who regularly interact with and care for older adults and have limited clinical training in mental health disorders. The training will inform participants of the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among older adults. A certificate will be awarded at the end of the training and breakfast and lunch will be served.

Objectives for this training:

- Asses for risk of suicide or harm

- Determine self-help and other support strategies

- Recommend relevant information and provide reassurance
