Participants MUST attend the full class time.
Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8-hour training to teach participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it helps trainees identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The program offers concrete tools and answers key questions such as "What do I do?" and "Where can someone find help?"
This 8-hour interactive class includes:
- Role playing
Who Should Attend?* This class is open to the public. It is a community based education class for people with little to some knowledge of mental illness. Anyone working - or living - in the community will benefit from this interactive class. *Please note the class may be too basic for some who work in mental health services.
- Attendance for the full class time and completion of final exam is mandatory
- Participants will receive a course manual and certificate of completion from the National Council for Behavioral Health.
- Contact hours are available.
