Join us for our upcoming Youth Mental Health First Aid training event in Crawfordsville sponsored by Franciscan. Lunch will be provided, send any dietary needs to Denise Walker at dbw@vmhmc.org.
- Introduces common mental health challenges of youth.
- Reviews typical adolescent development.
- Teaches a 5-step action plan to help young people in crisis and non-crisis situations.
- Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders. (Including AD/HD and eating disorders)
This program provides essential information and training for adults who interact with children on a regular basis:
- Parents, family members and caregivers
- Teachers and counselors
- Health and Human Services workers
- Any adult interacting with an adolescent in crisis
