Event description

Description

This training is aimed at bridging the gap between mental health issues/concerns and individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities in Sedgwick County. This training was developed by NADD (an association for persons with developmental disabilities and mental health needs) to engage, educate and collaborate across multiple support systems for the ID/DD population.

This training will cover 4 modules explaining what dual diagnosis is, signs and symptoms of mental illness, different support strategies, and how to bring inter-system collaboration across multiple support systems for these individuals. This training is open to case managers, direct support staff, work trainers, nursing staff, and anyone involved in working with individuals who have an ID/DD or mental health diagnosis.

Presenters:

Carly Holmes, Paradigm Services, Inc.
Tauni Nank, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office
