Mental Health Summit 2020 For Parents and Individuals with ASD

Strategies for Those with Co-Occurring Mental Health and ASD

It is believed that as many as 70 percent of those on the autism spectrum have a co-occurring mental health issue, including anxiety, depression and many others. In this webinar, I will discuss and you will learn about the following:

1. The role of trauma in individuals, and understanding ACES and beyond.

2. How mental health and trauma may present behaviorally.

3. Strategies for better understanding the underlying cause of these behaviors.

4. Strategies to help cope with anxiety and other mental health issues. Medications will not be discussed.

5. Needed systems to support these individuals. What may or may not be options in your community.

6. Importance of self-care.
