Event description
Discuss the intersection between law, mental health, medical ethics and the importance of remaining neutral. 6 hours of CLE/CEU available.

About this Event

Between exacerbating factors such as the high stress and demands of the legal profession and the isolation that often comes with long hours, many attorneys find themselves up against very serious health challenges: substance abuse, anxiety, stress, suicidal thoughts, and self-medicating for depression. In fact, attorneys experience substance abuse at twice the national average, and they have 10 percent higher rates of depression. These struggles often manifest in the workplace and lead to professional misconduct, complaints and malpractice claims. Naturally, these issues spill over into friendships and family, creating problems not only for the attorneys at hand, but for their colleagues, friends and families, as well.

This course is designed to identify risk factors and warning signs, and to promote self-care and balance between your personal and professional lives. Please come join us November 15 to help yourself, save a colleague, and promote a healthy climate.
