Men’s Health in Leeds. The Way Forward: from Learning to Action in the Thir...
Thu, May 25, 2017, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM BST
In June 2016 Leeds Beckett University launched a research report exploring the health and social issues of the male population in Leeds.
It found that there are a significant proportion of boys and men who are failing to reach their potential in terms of their educational attainment, employment, stable safe relationships, fatherhood, and their physical and mental health.
Across nearly all causes of death, men in Leeds are more likely than women to die at a younger age.
One year on, this event is an opportunity to remind us of the findings; share current good practice where services are successfully reaching men; and plan for reaching men who are currently unreached by existing provision.
As the third sector we can play a significant role in ensuring boys and men reach their full potential.
This event will:
· Disseminate the findings of the State of Men’s Health in Leeds report to a mainly third sector audience.
· Give the space to share good practice and opportunity to learn from each other.
· Allow partners the chance to reflect on what the report means to them and how it might change their practice.
· Identify partners who want to work collaboratively.
Please note that registration is from 9am and the event starts at 9.30am.
