Description

This is a fun event to make men aware of the signs of cancer. Our community cares! We want you to learn to take care of yourself and learn about options to treat cancer. We have survivors who have been our guest year after year.

One of our annual guest is Jason Kahl and his wife Shanna. Shanna shared his story of hope and conquering this horrible disease, here is a short version:

Starting August of 2013 Jason started complaining of having trouble swallowing.

Nov 2014 - diagnosed

January 2014 the doctor reassured Jason since he didn't drink, smoke nor dip that everything should be fine but he wanted to scope him just to see. Well 30 min into the scope and the doctor told Jason’s wife he was 99.9% sure it was cancer. Well Jason completed chemo and radiation like a champ didn't lose his hair, worked two jobs and had the surgery at the end of May 2014.

October 2015 Jason was declared in remission!!

Nov 2016 – cancer free

We caterer to the Men at this annual event. This year's theme is "What's Under Your Hood?". We will have antique cars to view and the theme will be automotive related.

We will have an informative speaker, Wallace Long, cancer survivor who will share his experience and what he learned about different types of treatment. Excellent MAN food prepared by Simply Seafood, entertainment by Ben Sanders with Magnolia Productions, liquid refreshments donated by our local breweries and an auction by drawing. Admission tickets are $25 per person.

Another one of our sponsors, Gulf Hills Resort and Hotel, is giving us a special rate of $89, just mention the event when you book your room.

Auction tickets are 5 tickets for $20. The way we do our auction, you purchase a ticket and drop by the item you would like to win, at the end of the evening a name is drawn. You make your donation, you don't have to hawk the table. You have fun and wait to see if you win, you do not need to be present to win.

Funds raised after expenses will be divided between Camellia Ministires and Pilots for Christ.

Camellia Ministries is a nonprofit organization committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the patients, families and communities we serve by addressing basic needs and providing positive quality of life measures. Through three distinct programs, we assist with medical needs for our patients, host an annual bereavement camp for children and support our employees in times of personal crisis.

100% of contributions to Camellia Ministries go to benefit those in need, and even the smallest gift can make a difference.

Pilots for Christ is a non-profit organization, that aims to glorify God by promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ through flying missions of mercy during a families most critical time of need. Although not an air ambulance, PFC is blessed to be one of the few in the nation whose aircraft is equipped with a stretcher. PFC provides this service free of charge. Pilots must meet stringent professional aviation guidelines and uphold high Christian principles and values.
