To book your place on the MEND 7–13 mind and nutrition knowledge transfer days, please read the following information. Details of dates, venue and location are provided on the right:
Module 1 After booking your place, you will receive a confirmation email giving you access to pre-workshop learning documents and it is important that you complete this prior to attending. We have written this pre-workshop learning to cover the minimum level of knowledge needed for the 2-day workshop.
Module 2 of your learning journey is the knowledge transfer days. Its aims are to identify what MEND is, who it’s for and why it works; enable you to demonstrate effective facilitation skills and content mastery of the manuals and resources; and identify the roles and responsibilities of being a MEND 7–13 mind and nutrition leader.
There is also a separate day for MEND exercise leaders conducting the exercise component of MEND 7–13. We recommend that all leaders attend all three MEND 7–13 knowledge transfer days.
Module 3 of your learning journey is an online assessment which is to be completed after attending the knowledge transfer days. A link will be sent to you after the event and the pass rate is 75%.

MEND stands for Mind, Exercise, Nutrition…Do it!, and describes the key components of the program. Our programs empower families to manage their weight by improving their eating and physical activity habits. The MEND 7–13 program is for children aged 7–13 with a body mass index (BMI) at the 85th percentile or above, and their families. The program consists of 20 sessions held twice a week for 10 weeks.

Since 2000 our team has developed, implemented and continually improved evidence-based weight management programs internationally, with a focus on children above a healthy weight and their families. As exclusive licensees of MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition… Do It!) programs in North America, we are part of the largest and most researched system of child weight management programs in the world. We work closely with community-based, public, private, non-profit and academic organizations to reach some of the neediest families and communities.
MEND programs are evidence-based and delivered to groups in communities. They include nutrition advice and physical activity, supported by behavior change techniques. Their core is typically 8–10 weeks, with maintenance and support for up to 2 years.
