The Health Workforce Initiative of the California Community College Economic and Workforce Development Program and the Southern California Chapter for the American Assembly for Men in Nursing would like to announce our 2nd annual conference “Recognizing the Superheroes in Scrubs...A positive change for nursing ”. This day and a half conference will provide interaction with professional nurses, student nurses, and pre-health students seeking to enter the field of nursing, providing a framework for discussion and influence factors, which affect men as nurses.
This conference is geared for all levels of nursing; Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Certified Nursing Aides, students of nursing programs from graduate to pre-licensure. Sessions will include both general and breakout sessions geared to the student and the professional nurse, with Keynote speakers from varied areas of professional work environments and presenters from both local and state educational institutions, associations and governmental agencies.
We hope to support professional growth, communication and demonstrate to each other and society the increasing contributions being made by the nursing profession.

The Southern California Chapter Assembly for Men in Nursing (socalaamn.org) provides a supportive and encouraging environment for nurses to meet, discuss, advocate and influence factors that affect men as nurses, as well as, networking and mentoring. The SOCALAAMN is a member of the national organization of the American Assembly for Men in Nursing (AAMN.org).
