What: A panel and educational discussion on Men and Domestic Violence
Who: Domestic Violence Wears Many Tags non-profit organization, Founder Queen Afi Gaston
When: Friday, October 4th, 2013 from 6pm-9pm
Where: Johnson Memorial Baptist Church 800 Ridge Rd St, Washington DC
Details: The event will feature some of the DMV’s most respected community leaders and activists such as Tony Lewis Jr, Christopher Barnes, Roland Wallace and Mike Tucker Jr to discuss issues that men face as it pertains to Domestic Violence, absentee fathers, visitation and legal rights (protective orders). The event also includes community resources such as job and training programs and mental health resources.
About DVWMT
Domestic Violence Wears Many Tags mission is to bring awareness to the community and families as whole as it pertains to abuse. We want to educate schools, churches, and mentor groups by reprogramming the amygdala with better decision making skills. We want to find ways that are fun and interesting for families, schools, and or churches to talk about abuse on any platform. We want to make sure that we are in the community bringing new and approved information & resources for the people that are the face of abuse & to the abusers.
