This month, Douglas Johnston introduces the new version of SQL Server, codename Denali. From T-SQL additions to the new Integration Services designer, from Master Data Services to the new Visual Studio project types, he will walk through a real-world example of each. As Douglas is also currently implementing all of these for a client, he will also demonstrate the pitfalls and bugs of the pre-release software. If you are considering upgrading to SQL Server 2012, this session will give you great information on what the benefits and the risks are.
Douglas Johnston is a Group Manager in the Business Intelligence & Collaboration Service Line of Avanade. With 10 years of experience with SQL Server and business intelligence tools, in industries as diverse as healthcare, financial services, defense and energy utilities, he has become one of the leading contributors to the Avanade BI community.
