Memorial 5K Run/Walk For Alabama’s Fallen Heroes

Date and Time:
5K race will start at 7:30 AM
Location:
Race, registration, and post-race activities at Battleship Park on the Causeway.
Benefits:
Blue Star Salute Foundation, Inc. (www.bluestarsalute.org) Each runner will run with the name of
one of Alabama’s Fallen Heroes on their Race Bib and afterwards during activities, they can visit the
wall of Alabama’s Faces of the Price of Freedom to see the faces of their fallen service member.
Distance:
Out and back certified 5K (AL08020JD) course along the Causeway between Mobile and Spanish
Fort. Race starts and finishes at Battleship Park.
Registration:
Pre-register by mail (entries should be postmarked by May 10), in person at McCoy Outdoor or Run
-N-Tri in Mobile or Running Wild in Fairhope until noon on May 15, or online until midnight May 15.
Race day registration at Battleship Park from 6:15 – 7:10 AM.
Shirts:
Participants registered by May 8, 2014 will beguaranteed a t-shirt in requested size on race day.
Additional shirts while supply lasts.
Special Activities:
Enjoy the day at USS Alabama Battleship Park. Join us in honoring our military service members; Those
Who Serve, Those Who Have Served and Those Who Have Fallen In Service. Governor Bentley is our
Special Guest and Keynote Speaker. Music provided by Roman Street Band, the 151st Army National Guard
Band, and Murphy High School. Activities provided for the children and service organizations for our military.
Day will conclude with a Gold Star Memorial Service honoring Alabama’s fallen heroes.
