Monday, January 9, 2017
10:00 am-12:00 pm
MMA Pacific Street
Will Bullas makes fine art fun. This master of one-liners combines award winning artistic skills with a hilarious point of view, creating a refreshing and unexpected new way to enjoy fine art. This is an opportunity to journey along with Will while he explores his career (with lots of imagery) and shares his unusual techniques with unusual tools to fine-tune his artwork.
Tools required: pen or pencil and notebook (recommended)
Growing up mostly in the Southwest and then entering college on an art and drama scholarship at Arizona State University, Will Bullas began focusing his attention on painting. Then after an interruption by military service, he returned from Vietnam and was accepted to the Brooks Institute of Fine Art in Santa Barbara, Ca. where he also met his wife. After art school they both decided the Monterey Peninsula was the “art colony” they wanted to be part of. In 1980 Will was voted into the Carmel Art Association and soon after became President. He is still a member and sits on the Board of Directors.
Will is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the Knickerbocker Artists of New York and in 2007 was awarded the Past Presidents Medal of the American Watercolor Society for his contributions to watercolor.
Will and his wife Claudia live and create in Carmel Valley just across the meadow from their grandchildren.
