Event description

Description

Meet at the Little Grill 6625 Dyer Rd, Manhattan, KS 66502 at 5:30 PM.

You must be a due paying MEMBER of Friends of the Kaw...or join as a member today! Free to MEMBERS only :)

Join Friends of the Kaw and Corps of Engineers, Tuttle Creek Lake for a tour and overview of lake operations and how that fits into the Kansas River basin. We will learn about basin operations, lake operations, and depending upon lake conditions, we may get a tour of the tower. If the lake is too high or releases are too high, we can still view the tower service area (top of dam) and learn how the structure is used to release water. We will also learn about the spillway, how it works, and will also tour the area if conditions allow.

The discussion will be fluid and informal, allowing for an interactive discussion and questions about how the system works within the overall Corps of Engineers framework. Our tour guide will be Brian McNulty, Operation Project Manager for Corps of Engineers, Tuttle Creek Reservoir.

This event is limited to 25 people and is for MEMBERS ONLY. RSVP for tour instructions, where to meet, etc.

Not a MEMBER of Friends of the Kaw? Join now….support our work and come along on the tour!
