Event description
Experience the emergence of more than 15 million Mexican free-tailed bats, from the comfort of your own home.

About this event

Bracken Cave is the summer home of more than 15 million Mexican free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis), making it the world's largest bat colony and one of the largest concentrations of mammals on earth. The emergence of these millions of bats, as they spiral out of the cave at dusk for their nightly insect hunt, is an unforgettable sight. Now you can witness this spectacle from anywhere in the world.

To register for a Member-only Virtual Bracken Bat Flight, you must be a member of BCI. Access codes to register for these events will be provided to members by email on April 12, or in your membership confirmation email if joining after that date. If you misplace or did not receive your access code, please email with the subject 'access code' and include your full name in the body of the email.

We will email the Zoom link to you the day before the event. Please note the start time may change depending on when the bats are expected to make their emergence and will be noted in the same email with the Zoom link.

If the event you are interested in has filled to capacity, please check back frequently as registrants may cancel their spot. There is no waitlist for these events.

Not already a member?  Join now for access to these and other member events. Please allow several days for processing. Your access code will be included in your confirmation email.
