Learn virtually about a new resource that connects our community to social services & how to use free tools for nonprofits.

About this Event

ConnectATX is a new resource from United Way for Greater Austin that connects our community to social services with dignity and ease. Using a helpline and an online platform - powered by Aunt Bertha - ConnectATX connects people seeking help with both existing community resources and new COVID-19 related programs.

Join your fellow Austin-area professionals from the nonprofit, government, healthcare, and education sectors to learn how to better connect your clients and patients to services including public benefits, food, employment, housing, transportation, education, mental health, and more. We’ll also discuss how this social care network is serving the wider Austin community, how to take advantage of free tools for nonprofits, and tips & tricks to get the most out of the site.

Who should attend:

  • Nonprofit leaders that would like to learn about ways to connect their services with community members
  • Anyone who wants to hear more about ConnectATX and meet with Aunt Bertha and United Way for Greater Austin


Amil McPeters, Community Integration Manager-United Way of Greater Austin, is a social service advocate who has spent the last decade working in different capacities of the nonprofit world in the San Francisco Bay Area. Amil is passionate about communication systems that help make people’s connection to resources easier and efficient. With roots in Red River County, Amil is excited to engage in community and collaborate with people living in Central Texas.

Jeff Cary leads the ConnectATX program at the United Way for Greater Austin. Jeff’s experience ranges from teaching in classrooms in the UAE and China to serving as a 2-1-1 Call Specialist. He is excited to develop partnerships that will ensure ConnectATX meets the needs of our entire community.

Meredith Stefos-Norris is a lifelong educator and advocate. Over her career, she’s served as a classroom teacher, and as the Texas Executive Director for a civics education nonprofit organization. A native Texan, she’s excited to build community, connection, and collaboration across the Lone Star State as the Texas Community Engagement Manager for Aunt Bertha.
