September 2018 Fair Housing Conference

Melding Scholarship and Advocacy under the Fair Housing Act

For over forty years, Professor Robert Schwemm has contributed mightily to the development of Fair Housing Law and Enforcement. In the early 1970s, he worked with Professor Bill Caruso on some of the earliest cases filed under the Fair Housing Act in Chicago. His treatise on Fair Housing Law is the Bible for anyone who wants to know the law related to Fair Housing. His law review articles and advocacy have advanced the law on many fair housing issues. We will honor Professor Schwemm by devoting this conference to issues that demonstrate the close connection between advocacy and scholarship and their impact on fair housing enforcement.
