About this event
Vivica's project: Birth Control Bans to Contraceptive Care investigated historical restrictions regarding contraceptives and compared them with modern-day cultural practices, access, and education throughout Buenos Aires, Argentina; London, United Kingdom; Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France; and Singapore.
Vivica is a fourth-year student studying sociology and global health studies at Northwestern University and a graduate student in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Feinberg School of Medicine. Her experience as a health educator, work as a sexual health education intern in the Office of Student Health and Wellness for Chicago Public Schools, and fierce reproductive justice advocate inspired her to craft this project.
About the organizer
Through Friendship, To Leave This World A Little Better than We Found It. The Circumnavigators Club is the only organization devoted to bringing together people who have circumnavigated the globe. The Club's purpose is to encourage global fellowship and understanding. It strives to inspire people to see and absorb as much as they can about the world in which we live. It is devoted to providing those who have circumnavigated the globe with a forum for intellectual exchange. The Chicago chapter sponsors educational events related to travel and social good each year and supports a local Circumnavigators Foundation Scholar in partnership with Northwestern University, who pursues an around the world research trip each summer.
