Description

Our 'Meet the Plant' Series is an introduction to plant families of important agricultural and cultural crop plants. Each month, we will discuss the natural history, center of origin, phytochemistry, and agricultural history of different species within the plant family. This series of talks is intended to expand the awareness and familiarity of the general public with different Florida crops. Your presenter is Robert Kluson, Ph.D., agriculture and natural resources agent. Register early through Eventbrite.com to reserve your seat and be notified of any changes.

The topic for this date is the plant family of Leguminacea (or, legumes). This talk will focus on the grain legumes (a.k.a., pulses) which includes crops such as peas, green beans, mung beans, adzuki beans, chick peas, black eyed beans, lentils, lima beans, winged beans, peanuts, etc.

NOTE: Classes and events may be canceled at any time due to low registration or other circumstances, with full refunds issued for paid events. Similar classes or events often are offered on future dates.
