Event description

Description

Meet and join in the conversation with filmmakers, Sagi Bornstein and Udi Nir, as they discuss the making of their film, Golda, showing at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival during the week of July 20-27. The narrative anchor in the film draws from the never-before-seen, off-air interview former Israel Prime Minister, Golda Meir, gave shortly before her death. The filmmakers will share and show clips of what they discovered from this footage including her openness to discuss her relationship between Israel and the rest of the Jewish world, her role in establishing the Israeli-American relations, as well as her personal life, views on feminism, and her experiences as a working mother in the early 20th century.

Enjoy the chat with the filmmakers and don't miss the film! The JCC East Bay is happy to co-present Golda as part of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival at the following screenings:

  • Saturday, July 20, 1:30pm at CineArts, 3000 El Camino Real, Palo Alto

  • Sunday, July 21, 3:50pm at Castro Theater, 429 Castro Street, San Francisco

  • Saturday, July 27, 2:00pm at Albany Twin*, 1115 Solano Avenue, Albany

*Albany Twin tickets often sell out quickly, so get your tickets soon or purchase Castro Theater tickets as an alternative.

Ticket and additional theater information can be found on the SFJFF website.

This event is presented in partnership with Frederick Hertz, friend of the JCC East Bay and former Board Member of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.
