Come and meet the editors of The Conversation Canada, a new not-for-profit project helping researchers share their knowledge with millions of readers worldwide. Discuss with the editors what makes for a good pitch and get tips on writing clear, concise and timely research-driven analysis.
The session is hosted by The Conversation Canada editor, Scott White. Scott brings decades of experience in national journalism to the role, including 16 years as Editor-in-Chief of The Canadian Press. Most recently, he was a vice-president with Postmedia Network and has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
This session is suitable for Humanities and Social Sciences researchers at all career stages.
The Conversation is an internationally proven, independent, nonprofit publisher of commentary and analysis, authored by academics and edited by journalists for the general public. We publish articles (600-800 words) by academics on timely topics related to their research.
Launching in the Spring, The Conversation Canada will be the sixth national affiliate in the global network of academic journalism. Our mission is to enhance the visibility, national and global reach and impact of Canadian scholars and universities. Our team of professional editors work with researchers to unlock their knowledge for audiences across Canada, contributing and contribute to abetter understanding of current affairs and complex issues.
