Event description
Join the Algorand team for food and drinks to celebrate the start of Hack the North, and learn about building in the borderless economy

About this Event

As a new blockchain project out of MIT, we are excited to be participating in Hack the North for the first time this year, and returning to the University of Waterloo, a founding member of our Global University Program.

Join us for some food & drinks to celebrate the start of the Hackathon and the memorable 36 hours we will spend building together in the borderless economy.

Present will be Algorand representatives from all branches of the project: research (Head of Cryptography and University of Waterloo Professor, Sergey Gorbunov), community (Rochelle Guillou and Russ Fustino), Foundation (Fabrice Benhamouda who previously worked at IBM Research).

hack.algorand.org

Algorand, Inc. [www.algorand.com] is an open source permissionless public blockchain based on a pure proof-of-stake consensus protocol—the first of its kind to support the scale, open participation, and transaction finality for billions of users. Backed by a renowned team of researchers and business leaders, Algorand overcomes the decentralization, security, and scalability barriers that have undermined mainstream blockchain adoption until now.
