Meet Michelle:

Michelle Gomez is a Southern California native and long time community advocate with a demonstrated track record of working to uplift our community. She currently serves on both the San Diego Commission on the Status of Women & Girls where she and her fellow Commissioners are leading the charge against human trafficking, childhood homelessness, and domestic violence. She also serves on the Oceanside Housing Commission making recommendations to the City Council on policies pertaining to programs for low and moderate-income housing and homelessness prevention.

Michelle's vision for San Diego County includes Community Choice Energy which will cut carbon emissions while saving hard working rate payers money on their electric bills. Her comprehensive plan also includes the expansion of health and human services availablility, strengthening fire protections, and preserving open space while protecting private property rights.

North County residents (particularly those in the unincorporated areas) deserve a responsive Board of Supervisors who will honor our county's General Plan to protect sensitive natural resources while ensuring sustainable growth near existing services and infrastructure.

To do so we must end the excessive hoarding of reserves currently taking place due to the decades long Republican stranglehold on our county's resources. Our county has a crisis level affordable housing shortage that forces working families to leave the area or live in poverty. San Diego County has the 4th highest homeless population in the nation, and 1 in 6 of those affected are children.

Just last year this crippling poverty lead to an outbreak of Hepatitis A which killed 20 people and infected another 570 more, hitting the homeless particularly hard. We have the means to avoid tragedies such as this, but we must act to elect Supervisors who will get the job done.

Michelle would be honored to meet you and hear your thoughts about how our county can be better managed.
