Event description

Description

MEDstudio@JEFF’s Graphic Medicine program explores how visual narratives can communicate complex ideas among health care professionals, patients and the community. This practice transcends language barriers and other obstacles to build empathy for all. This installment of Graphic Medicine investigates the way public mural-making can help us understand hunger in the Delaware Valley; a problem that affects so many yet remains largely invisible and misunderstood.

Join us for refreshments, conversation and the collaborative creation of an interactive Graphic Medicine mural! As we reflect upon the mural that artist Tom Judd has created over his ten-day residency, we will launch the next phase of Graphic Medicine+ CreatIVity—Jefferson University and Philadelphians using graphics to “talk” to one another.

Drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. Proudly serving delicious eats by Philabundance Community Kitchen.

"An Apple a Day" by Tom Judd and MEDstudio@JEFF's Graphic Medicine for DesignPhiladelphia 2017 are in support of Philabundance and Mural Arts Philadelphia.

MEDstudio@JEFF is grateful for the support of Jefferson University's Office of the Provost.
