Do you need a regular boost to your meditation practice?
Are you eager to PRACTICE the interconnectedness with all things that we feel in the best meditation sessions?
Do you hunger for social connection that has meaning?
BAI’s Meditation Deep Dive
We go much more deeply together than alone. Not to mention, it’s more fun.
Our time together will be utterly devoted to practice, (but know that there will be time for casual socializing before and afterwards)
We will begin, after a brief introduction, with movement. Gentle motions from Christina's Ayurvedic training designed to open your subtle body system and prepare for extended periods of stillness. No special clothing necessary, but wear something comfortable.
Then there will be a period of guided meditation, to bring the focus inward and tune the attention.
This is followed by two extended periods of silence, (30 and 45 mins respectively) beginning with pointing out instructions to assist the process.
Finally we will end with a practice of conversation as a spiritual practice. This is a style of WE-space practice brought to us by our friends at EnlightenNext, and used extensively in the WEpractice Community. Its an opportunity for us to train in holding meditative awareness while in relationship with others.
Its a full and delicious 3 hours of multiple types of consciousness practice.
Details and directions to the meeting space will be provided after completing registration.
This event occurs on the first Saturday of each month. Suggested donation (at the door): $15-$30. More if you can, less if you can't.
And if you are willing to make an even larger donation in times of abundance, it will ensure that we can continue to host this event by donation.
ABOUT YOUR HOSTS/FACILITATORS...
Christina Sophie developed the ravenous hunger for a regular meditation Deep Dive after the Meditation Flash Mob in Union Sq. and the EnlightenNext Meditation Marathon, both in Dec. 2011. Co-founder of the WEpractice Community, Christina integrates a broad spectrum of philosophical training, a strong grounding in yoga tradition, and the practical knowledge gained in 15 years of group emotional process work and 20 years of hands-on-the-body professional experience. Passionate about Awakening, Christina is an evangelist for living life as a transformative practice, and having a helluva good time while doing it. Her web site is www.christinasophie.com.
Jeff Bellsey has been meditating for 25 years. For most of those years, his practice was 20 hours on the mat every week, come spiritual rain or spiritual shine. In addition to leading meditations in various styles, he brings a fluid understanding of the natural developmental process that happens through the radically life-positive practice of letting go.
Jeff studied with Andrew Cohen, Yogi Bhajan, and Zen Master Seung Sahn. His awakened passion is contagious; not just for meditation, but for the full-time practice of living an engaged, creative life, and of creating a culture of integrity.
Jeff's blog is goingtoground.com.
