About this event

Ever wanted to learn how to fight (properly) with a longsword? Wonder no more! Join us for an 8-evening beginner's course in Durham. We will be covering all the basics of swordfighting, from guards to strikes, from parries to thrusts. This is a standalone course with no commitment to continue training with us, but it will give you an excellent foundation for further training in longsword (+ bragging rights with your friends).

When is it?

This course runs for 8 weeks every Monday 20:00-21:30, from 27th October through to 15th December.

Where is it?

We will be training at the Freeman's Quay in Durham, upstairs in the far half of the main hall. (Just take the corridor on the right hand side of the gym).

What should I bring?

Comfortable sports clothes, indoor sports shoes. Swords and fencing gear will be provided. You may want a water bottle :)

How much does it cost?

It is £50 for the whole course, payable up front by bank transfer. We will reach out to participants after sign-up to sort out payments and consent forms. Your booking will not be final until payment is made and forms returned. (We need to make sure we can cover the hall hire!).
