Medicine on Facebook

Eighteen years after they called it quits as a working band, 2013 finds the original members of Medicine reunited and proudly offering a newly recorded LP on Captured Tracks. “To The Happy Few” is the sound of a highly inspired group reclaiming its creative legacy, thoroughly immersed in the practice of mixing harsh noise with obsessive melodic detail and heavily groovy rocking. Returning is the core trio of lead singer/ chanteuse Beth Thompson, guitarist / vocalist Brad Laner, and drummer Jim Goodall, the same team which created the still vital, influential and controversial LPs “Shot Forth Self Living” (1992) , “The Buried Life” (1993) and “Her Highness” (1995) as well as a stand-out appearance in the 1994 film “The Crow”. The members of Medicine stayed quite busy with music in the interim between 1995 and 2012: Jim Goodall recorded and toured with his legendary evil country western band Jon Wayne which had its first LP reissued by Jack White’s Third Man label. Beth Thompson made a collaborative album as The Shway and performed with The Furry Things. Brad Laner has released a bunch of solo and collaborative LPs under various names and recorded with the likes of Brian Eno, M83, Caribou and Blinker The Star.

The Telescopes on Facebook

Founded in 1987 by Stephen Lawrie. The Telescopes have been mining a unique anti-myopian seam of highly influential experimental, drone, noise, dream & psych for over 20 years. Their first record was a split flex-disc with Loop on the Cheree label. After a further two critically acclaimed singles for the label, they moved to What Goes On, where they released two further EPs and their debut album Taste. All of which found their way to the top of the UK independent charts. One of the more interesting bands that were signed to Creation Records. Their final EP for the label registered in the UK mainstream top 80. The group were also favoured by John Peel and recorded two BBC Radio 1 sessions for him. The Guardian’s Alexis Petridis described them as having “an almost fragile sense of elegance and melody”. The group are currently undertaking what is increasingly becoming a world tour, covering Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, the UK and the USA. Another album of new material, recorded in Berlin at The Brian Jonestown Massacre studio and in Leeds with Spectrum co-founder Richard Formby, is due for release in the near future. A split record with Deadly Cradle Death from China is also underway.

LSD and the Search for God on Facebook
LSD and the Search for God on Soundcloud

LSD and the Search for God hit the Northern California coast in 2005--seemingly from another space and time--dosing San Francisco’s underground psychedelic music community with hypnotic live shows built upon swirling guitars, otherworldly drones, fuzzed-out pop hooks, and youthfully flirtatious male/female vocals. After one of their first gigs (with Australia's The Morning After Girls), LSD was asked by Kurt Heasley to play with Lilys. Shortly after, they were invited on two separate West Coast tours: first with Spectrum (featuring Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3) and then with The Telescopes (on their first-ever U.S. tour). The momentum from their early shows and sold-out EP paved the way for a busy three three years of West Coast shows, a U.S. tour, and a handful of festival dates as LSD shared the bill with the likes of Dead Meadow, Martin Rev (of Suicide), and DJs Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre), Nick Jago (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), and Colm O'Coissoig (My Bloody Valentine).
