About this event
Join us for Medicine Dance and celebrate the Autumn Equinox with us in community. Immerse yourself in Sound, Movement and other Wellbeing practices on 25 acres of private land with a stunning lake and forest.
Ecstatic Dance Berkshire has been running for 3 years. One word that often comes up in our closing circles is... Medicine. The combination of heart opening cacao, conscious movement and a non judgmental, safe space... creates a magical opening where we feel able to reveal our true selves.
Our Ecstatic Dance Berkshire Medicine Dance was born in 2024 when a group of beautiful souls gathered together to dance, connect, experience true freedom and heal, in this hidden paradise in Windlesham. In 2025 we followed this with a Summer Solstice Weekend Celebration. To see photos from these events and more visit Instagram

Ecstatic Dance
With Ecstatic Dance, the invitation is to disconnect the mind and connect with the body freely, without self-judgement or fearing judgement from others. The music is always different, and the dance is an opportunity to connect with the body and see how it would like to move to the music. Movement is conscious, intuitive and spontaneous as you allow the vibrations of the sound to resonate in whichever way feels right for you. A great opportunity to witness your thoughts and practice mindfulness. We move/dance barefoot as this helps us to connect more deeply with nature.

Cacao
Contraindications: Ceremonial Cacao is not recommended for anyone in the first trimester of pregnancy, with a serious heart condition, epilepsy or taking antidepressants. If you would like to still attend and take a much lower dose, you can do so at your own risk. Our Cacao is First Grade Ceremonial Cacao from Guatemala.
Cacao is a powerful plant medicine that contains iron, zinc, potassium, copper, and magnesium which contribute to cardiovascular health. It is said to have benefits for depression as it contains anandamide, the bliss molecule and has the ability to trigger the release of dopamine and endorphins and increase serotonin. Cacao also has powerful antioxidants and can balance blood sugar levels by increasing the blood flow to the brain. This helps with focus and awareness. Cacao also has spiritual and emotional benefits and can help us to connect with our higher self, tune in to our intuition and access transformational states.
About
Alison Heaslewood - Lead Facilitator - Just BE Sound & Movement Therapy
Just BE Sound and Movement Therapy is run by Alison Heaslewood who qualified in Sound and Movement Therapy with the British Academy of Sound Therapy. She is also the founder of Ecstatic Dance Berkshire. Following a five year episode of chronic pain in her twenties and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, she turned to alternative methods of healing, including Sound Therapy. Along with sound, movement was instrumental in her full recovery. She has been supported on her spiritual path by cacao, meditation and connecting to nature, and has been continually called to explore deep practices of surrender and awareness. With five years vocal training she has discovered the power of the voice to heal and brings soothing vocals into her sound sessions along with other percussion. She creates nurturing, relaxing and safely held spaces for anyone seeking a space to Just BE.
David Atkinson - Sound Healing, Meditation & Event Support - Nomadic Therapist
David is a key member of the Ecstatic Dance Berkshire Team. His deep connection with Earth energies and sound has most recently led him to hold sacred sound baths in West Kennet Long Barrow. A talented musician, he plays didgeridoo, handpan, drum and bowls, and often plays during or after Ecstatic Dances. In particular, his didgeridoo playing has been well received by the dance community, as the vibrations bring new depths to the journeys and create space for deep healing. He also leads meditations, walks and teaches dowsing.
Cinthia Selenia - Portal For Joy Workshop
Cinthia offers Divine Healing Master Key, Intuitive Holistic Massage, Lotus Lightbody Surgery, Soul Contract Readings and Spiritual Healing. Having worked in Holistic Massage and Spiritual Healing for many years, she took a break to have her four daughters, then retrained as a NO HANDS® Massage Therapist. At about the same time she picked up a book from the library that led her first to the Divine Healing work, then to Lotus Lightbody Surgery and Soul Contract Reading. It changed her life and she hasn't looked back. She uses Divine Healing on herself several times a week, receiving regular Lightbody and massage sessions too. She bring us The Portal For Joy!
Lubo Arvai - Ceremonial Cacao Alchemy - Cacao Sol UK
Lubo is a passionate cacao lover with a deep connection to the talented farmers in Guatemala. As a devoted advocate for this powerful medicine Lubo is honoured to share its immense benefits at Ecstatic Dance UK every Wednesday and Sunday, as well as regular festivals and events across the country. Lubo has been our direct connection to Guatemalan cacao since we first included it in our Ecstatic Dance ceremonies 3 years ago. He will be cooking up a delicious and authentic batch of cacao for our Saturday ceremony, as well as selling blocks, more cups of cacao and the most amazing chocolates and offerings throughout the weekend.
