Medicinal Wild Plants: A Glen Park Tour Saturday April 27th
Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA
Glen Canyon Park is a deep canyon oasis just west of the charming neighborhood of Glen Park in San Francisco. The canyon is a city park that is home to coyotes, great horned owls, red tailed hawks, and many other animals. The canyon's diverse terrain provides a great place to see medicinal and culinary herbs in their natural habitats. On this walk we will find at least 20-25 plants that are edible and/or used medicinally. Although we won't be able to pick plants in a public area on this tour, we will discuss how one can identify the environments where the plants grow normally and how to distinguish them.
