Description

Medicinal Plant Walk: Herbs for the Immune System

So many people struggle with stress, chronic pain and fatigue that can gradually wear the body’s immune system down. Plant medicine can be hugely supportive for the immune system and, combined with good lifestyle choices, help the body to rebuild from illness and disease. Get started with this quick 2-hour class and plant walk to learn about the amazing plant medicine that surrounds us in this rich bio-region.

We will also talk about ethical wildcrafting, and how to keep the imprint on the natural landscape as low as possible with sustainable harvesting techniques, when the best time is to harvest plants and how to be a better land steward to the natural environment.

The workshop will include a lecture followed by a plant walk to point out any available plants that can be used to support the body’s immune system.

Clinical herbalist Michael Blair from Herbal Medics Academy will lead students through this summer series of medicinal plant walks that cover herbs that assist the body in healing, responsible harvesting techniques and botany identification of available plants in our area!
