Medicinal Herbs Foraging in April
Sat, April 8, 2017, 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM PDT
Each month we’ll head out into the woods, fields and hedgerows of this fine island to learn how to ethically collect wild medicinal herbs. Please bring a harvesting basket, a notepad/pen, and your raingear. Students will be provided with recipes and resources to make the most of their foraged goods. This class is the second in a series on how to sustainably and ethically collect plant medicine from Bainbridge's wild places. You can register for each class individually. Ages 14-99. What is typically wildcrafted in April can be any of the following: elderflowers, horsetail, maple blossoms, nettles, nootka rose.
*This class pairs well with the Herbal Medicine Making series, but can also be taken stand alone. Expect to leave class with a basket of local herbs, an herbal preparation we’ll make in the field, and recipes to prepare at home. We’ll be outside for most of the class, so dress appropriately! Each class theme will be different from the previous month’s. Participants under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
