The opiate crisis and increased use of heroin and prescription drugs across the country changed treatment protocols. Use of medications to treat addiction is one of the recommended treatment options, though many have a misunderstanding of MAT.

This training will review some of the standard medications; Methadone, Suboxone and Vivitrol and will also discuss some of the newly released medications. We will discuss the stigma that has been associated with MAT, and address the stigma to ensure professionals have accurate information regarding these disorders that lead to improved and successful treatment outcomes.

This conference is sponsored by Harrison Co. Family Resource Network and funded by Project SUCCESS through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities.
