The Affordable Care Act requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to establish a shared savings program to facilitate coordination and cooperation among providers to improve the quality of care for Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) beneficiaries and reduce unnecessary costs. The Shared Savings Program is designed to improve beneficiary outcomes and increase value of care by:
- Promoting accountability for the care of Medicare FFS beneficiaries
- Requiring coordinated care for all services provided under Medicare FFS
- Encouraging investment in infrastructure and redesigned care processes
Eligible providers, hospitals, and suppliers may participate in the Shared Savings Program by creating or participating in an Accountable Care Organization, also called an ACO. The Shared Savings Program Application web page has important information and materials on the application process, including the Notice of Intent to Apply (NOI) Memo, the first step in the application process.
During this webinar, CMS Region 10 subject matter experts will present an overview of the Shared Savings Program and the Advance Payment Model and explain the application process. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
The presentation is the same each date, and the times are in Pacific Standard Time. Instructions on how to participate in the webinar and teleconference will be e-mailed to you the day before the presentation, and posted on this website.
