Medical Coding Exam Info Session
Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM (CST)
Session will be held in room T323
This 3-day preparatory Bootcamp is designed to provide you with an extensive overview of the information you need to know in order to pass the AHIMA CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based, or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) exam. This course does not teach you how to code, but rather reviews essential information and provides indispensable strategies and tips that will give you a much better chance of passing the exam. It will aid in providing an individualized readiness assessment to identify areas of knowledge strengths and weaknesses, which will optimize study and exam preparation strategies. All domains appearing on the exam will be discussed, including CPT, ICD-9-CM and HCPCS coding, health information documentation, reimbursement, data quality and analysis, information and communication technologies, and compliance and regulatory issues.
Note: These exams assess mastery-level knowledge and proficiency in coding, rather than entry-level skills. This course was designed for coders and other health professionals who have a working knowledge of billing and coding, or for students who have successfully completed a health information course which included medical billing and coding, and want to prepare for national certification.
