Carol Lieb Himes, workshop presenter, is the Coordinator of the Special Education, Early Intervention, and ACCES-VR Mediation Programs for Manhattan and Brooklyn at the New York Peace Institute. This program provides mediations to resolve disputes between individuals with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities, and service-providing agencies, including the New York City Department of Education and the New York City Department of Health. Carol is also trained to mediate adult/teen (JD/PINS), custody and visitation, and divorce cases. She enjoys mentoring new Special Education and Early Intervention mediators, and has also mentored new mediators. In the past, Carol practiced law in several areas, including securities law and contracts, and she is very happy to have found her work in mediation. Carol is a member of the New York State bar.
