Description
The Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association Presents:
The MediaThon: Hack The News!
News can topple governments, make people laugh or cry, inspire masses to action, change political futures, build or break financial fortunes, inspire fans to their feet, spark intense conversations and connect people in new and unusual ways.
Gather in a creative and competitive environment to create the best piece(s) of media you can that, in two minutes or less promotes the news business today and into the future, and inspires others, as well. Create new ways of distributing, sharing and delivering news.
Come with peers, assemble or join a team, and create blogs, apps, video, APIs, social media, games, mashups — anything you can to make the most compelling case to the widest possible community.
We’re looking for media creators, technologists, students, business professionals — anyone who wants to explore new forms, break down barriers and see how far they can go in a day.
The Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association is awarding the top prize, and may use what you create and even hire you to develop it further. The PNA wants to inspire their members — and the entire community — to experience and promote newspapers and the news.
Come away with something you’ve helped create, new contacts and knowledge, creative energy and inspiration, insights into cutting edge technologies, and a great end-of-day discussion with leaders in the media and technology spheres.
Top Team Prize: $1,000. Plus Assorted Cash Cards, Drink Tickets, Media/Tech Books, Coffee Mugs & More!
