Media H.S. App Design Project Fair. - Feria de Diseño de aplicaciones
Event Information
About this event
For the second year in a row our students at Media High School have joined thousands of New York City public school students to become mobile-app designers! This partnership provides $18,500 in federal funding to each school for training and support, through the NYC Department of Education's (NYC DOE) Division of Instructional and Information Technology (DIIT) and Mouse.org, the New York City-based organization that prepares historically excluded youth for roles in tech to build an inclusive and equitable future.
Media is proud once again to be one of the schools participating in this DIIT Design League program. Design League is a comprehensive 25-hour STEM program for middle and high school students. Student teams design apps while learning highly sought-after human centered design and user interface and user experience (UI/UX) skills using the professional design software Figma. Students will identify a need in our community and build an app around addressing that need.
Come join us on Wednesday May 11th at 3PM to support our student designers present their project on their mobile app prototype. The two winning teams of the Media App Design Project Fair will compete in the 2022 Emoti-Con competition, a prestigious youth tech fair that Mouse organizes each year. Proof of vaccination is required upon entry and all attendees must wear a mask.
